Refunds & Cancellation

Last updated 9 October 2026

This page explains how FamTwig payments, renewals, cancellations and refunds work.

1. Paying

Paid FamTwig plans are purchased through Paddle.

Paddle acts as our Merchant of Record and authorised reseller.

Paddle processes:

  • payments;
  • applicable taxes;
  • subscription billing; and
  • refunds.

FamTwig does not receive or store your full card details.

Paddle’s Buyer Terms and Refund Policy also apply to your purchase.

2. Renewing

Paid FamTwig plans are billed once a year.

Your subscription automatically renews each year until you cancel it.

If the subscription price changes, we will tell you before the new price applies where required.

3. Cancelling

You can cancel your subscription at any time through FamTwig’s Plans page or through Paddle.

After cancelling:

  • you keep your paid plan until the end of the period you already paid for;
  • you will not be charged again; and
  • your account moves to the Free plan when the paid period ends.

Cancelling does not delete your family tree.

If your tree is larger than the Free plan allows, your existing information stays there.

Some editing and paid features may be limited until you upgrade again or bring the tree within the Free plan limits.

4. FamTwig’s 14-day refund promise

If you change your mind, you can request a refund within 14 days of your first paid FamTwig purchase.

If a refund is approved:

  • your paid access ends;
  • your account moves to the Free plan; and
  • your existing family-tree information is not automatically deleted.

For upgrades, renewals or purchases made more than 14 days ago, refunds are normally not provided unless:

  • FamTwig or Paddle agrees to one;
  • there is a serious problem with the service; or
  • the law where you live gives you a right to a refund.

To request a refund, use the support link in your Paddle receipt or visit paddle.net.

5. Upgrades

If you upgrade your FamTwig plan during your current subscription, the upgrade may start immediately.

You may be charged only for the difference for the remaining part of your current subscription period.

The amount shown at checkout is the amount you will be charged.

Upgrading does not create a new 14-day FamTwig refund period.

Any additional rights given by local law still apply.

6. Downgrades

If you move to a smaller paid plan or the Free plan, the change normally starts when your current paid period ends.

You can continue using your current paid features until then.

When the downgrade takes effect, FamTwig does not automatically delete your existing family-tree information.

If your tree is above your new plan limits, some actions may be restricted until you upgrade again or bring the tree within the new limits.

7. Your legal rights

Nothing on this page removes any consumer rights you have under the law where you live.

Some countries give customers additional cancellation, refund or withdrawal rights.

Those rights still apply.

Paddle’s Buyer Terms and Refund Policy provide additional information about purchases made through Paddle.

8. Contact

If you have a question about your FamTwig subscription, contact famtwig01@gmail.com.

For payment or refund questions, you can also contact Paddle through the link included in your Paddle receipt.
